Bought this to cover the pop up vent on the front of the camper. There rear had a much beefier cover from the factory so I was a little skeptical when I first got this one. Install was super simple and didn’t require drilling into the roof, just the putter lip around the pop up vent. Took maybe 30 minutes start to finish. To get it centered just right be sure to raise the vent before you drill any holes as I initially had it too far forward, centering only on the frame, which would have only allowed the vent to go up half way. There is room to move it around once the brackets are in place, but it is best to get it located just right before drilling. We drove across country this summer with both vents open and it really helped keep the temperature down inside. I was a little worried about dust & dirt getting sucked into the camper but we didn’t have any issues with that. We got the smoke color and it allows us to keep the front vent open at night without lights shining in and hitting me in the eyes! I would definitely recommend this cover.

I got two for my Jayco, generally am good about closing it up when I think it is going to rain, but wanted to be able to leave them open when going out for the day, or overnight, with one right over our bed. These are a lot lighter, and smaller than I was expecting. Just thin plastic, but easy to install, and should do the job. These do not mount to your roof, they mount to the little metal flange around your vent sticking up through the roof. Bolts onto L shaped brackets, you bolt onto that flange. So requires drilling 4 holes through the metal flange on your vent. Only problem I ran into was the hardware to attach to the flange is very small. Little screws, little washers, little nuts. I have a stock fan in the bathroom, which takes up most of that space, while trying to get the nut and washers on, dropped a washer into the little space between the fan motor and and edge of the opening. No way that will ever see the light of day again. Also, because of the fan in there, I miscalculated and drilled a bit close to one of the pieces of the fan, so had to put that screw in at an angle, then try to get it as straight as possible after getting it all together. So my advice would be, if you have two openings, and one with a fan, to install the non fan one first. Just harder to do with something besides a screen in the opening. Both open about 45 degrees now, plenty to get some air movement through. In a hard rain, I have doubts it will be dry, the spray can probably get back in there, but in a gentle rain should work perfect. I don't know how they will travel yet. Took a short drive (45 minutes) and they were fine, but they were $16, so if I need to replace them in a few years, not going to break the bank. Perhaps the $100-$150 ones are better, but these were the right price, pretty easy to install, and should work fine.

Great purchase for my fifth wheel. Although it was on my list of items to do, I didn't install this until I had to start paying for electricity in my trailer. I could immediately feel the difference in the bathroom, the dark cover definitely dropped the temperature during the sunny parts of the day. The exhaust can also be used when it is raining outside now as this blocks any water from entering the trailer. It was fairly easy to install, my trailer was set up to install one of these so I didn't have to drill any holes. It was a small space and a little difficult to start the hardware but other than that, simple and quick. Definitely recommend for every trailer, whether or not you pay for electricity. Update: This has been in use through the summer, about four months. I have left it open many times during rain, some very heavy. I have not noticed any rain enter the RV at all.

I installed one of these covers last year, and I found that it worked well for me. My RV is a 1995 model, so I have been upgrading and refurbishing my home since purchased in July 2015. My roof vents are original, so covering the vents with a hood will slow the deterioration of my vent lids. Also, the hood keeps out the rain as well as allows me to operate my vent lids when I have snow on my roof. These hoods also keep away bugs and all the leaves in the Fall. The downfall is that the natural airflow often provide by the wind or by rising hit air is greatly reduced. I like that I can leave my life open when I am away since I have a dog and a cat. As for the airflow issue, I plan to upgrade the exhaust fan in my bathroom to increase airflow as needed. Hopefully I will have solar power in the near future to power an exhaust fan for long periods. However, be aware that a bathroom exhaust fan can and often will suck up swamp gas from your holding tanks. So plug your sink and tub drain and hope that your toilet is well sealed. :-)

i bought 2 of these for my 30" travel trailer, and they are awesome. very easy to install, and they allow you to keep your roof vents open 24/7 for added ventilation in the RV. it's nice when you finally reach your destination and open up your camper and it's not 150 degrees inside. i towed the trailer through a driving rainstorm for 2 solid hours with the roof vents open, and was worried that water may have creeped in under these vent covers, but not a drop of wetness was found! the plastic is thick and sturdy and they have a nice weight to them. i've seen other bad reviews on here about the plastic becoming brittle from the sun, but that is going to happen to any piece of plastic when left exposed to the UV rays for any extended period of time. when they get brittle and break (which they eventually will), just replace them. for the price, they don't break the bank. great product!

We purchased two of these roof vent covers to cover the roof vents on our slide on csmper. We have installed them and are pleased with the ease of installation and the quality of the product. They look nice installed and do not exceed the height of the roof top air conditioner that was factory installed. Having the roof vent covers allows us to keep the roof vents open while the camper is parked during rain and while on the road. We are firm believers in the use of roof vent covers. They do really provide a layer of protection for your camper or utility trailer.

Had to replace my vent window after it disintegrated after only being a 2 year old one. Ordered that and ordered this to protect the new one. Was an easy install, you don't drill into the roof at all, just 4 small mounting holes to drill under then vent window for the brackets and stays water tight. With the mounting system you can tell it's a break away system in case you hit a tree branch or something else the vent cover will brake away, rather than damage your camper and it's less than a $30 repair, compared to a roof repair. I actually scored mine on amazon warehouse deals for $13 brand new with a scuff on it, its on the roof so no one notices or sees a cosmetic scuff. I've been wanting one for my camper and it will protect my new vent window, which btw takes 15 mins to replace, so I'm very happy now 😊...

Product was delivered on time and undamaged. Comes with mounting hardware that I discarded after reading and examining how the cover was supposed to mount. Here's why, I wanted this to SEAL around my vent so no water could collect there and so no wasps could get in and build a nest. The hardware would have mounted the vent cover to the vent just fine as instuctions showed but there would have been a gap between roof and the vent where water could collect and bugs could get in. What I did is used a sealer between the cover and roof and then used wood screws to clamp it down. No leaks, air noise, no bugs building nests (like before), or worry if the provided clamps would hold the cover on or not. Vent opens just fine without rubbing, but you can't fully extend it. For me, not a problem because this vent is for the bathroom and it has a high powered fan behind it, but it COULD be an issue for you if you are expecting something different so beware.

Fan-freaking-tastic! These things allow us to keep the vents open in the camper while sitting on a permanent site. The vents, alone with the windows keeps the camper from becoming a mold infested WI sauna on wheels. Previous owners often complained of the mold during the summer and spend many hours wiping the walls with bleach and using very large buckets of damp rid. Why bother, when such an inexpensive solution, such as this, exists? Stop messing with mold and clammy RV’s and install these covers, open your vents and fa-get-about-it!

This vent cover is easy to install and works as advertised. We are really enjoying being able to leave the roof vent open and how much more pleasant it is to walk into the camper and not begin sweating immediately. We've had several severe thunder storms since we installed the vent cover and have had no rain get into the camper. It did not darken the inside of the camper to the degree I thought it would (hardly at all). I would highly recommend the Camco roof vent cover to anyone, especially anyone in a warm/hot climate.
