Blokus Strategy Game
- Perfect strategy game for the whole family – less than a minute to learn with fun challenges for all ages
- Players take turns placing their 21 pieces on the board: each piece must touch another of the same color, but only at the corners
- Stake your claim and protect your territory by fitting as many of your pieces on the board as possible while strategically blocking your opponents
- The game ends when no more pieces can be placed down, and the player with the lowest number remaining wins
- Great gift for Blokus fans

This is a seriously fun—yet simple to learn—game.
I am the parent of two kids (one in particular) that love to play board games. All the time. Of all kinds. Sometimes this is amusing, but sometimes it can get rather dreary. Often, the games that they want to play don't have enough strategy and mental work to them to be interesting to an adult. Either that or the games are exceedingly short and repetitive (or long and interminable). But this game—this game is an absolute *blast*. I say that as an adult, It has a defined length (as many turns as the number of pieces) that turns out to be just about right—somewhere between 15 and 25 minutes. And it is simple and intuitive to learn, and colorful, too—great for kids. And it is also very much a strategy game and also a game that relies on skill (visual and tactical)—great for adults. I actually love playing this with them, and get to feel the satisfaction of seeing them exercise their minds and grasp strategic concepts as they play it. Very rewarding. A brilliant little game. Highly recommended.

A Must Add To Your Collection of Board Games!!!
My 8 year old son came across the Blokus game during a week at math summer camp. His group played this game almost every single day. He could not stopping talking about his games and his results of what happened and why it happened. He kept begging us to purchase this game so he could play and challenge us and his friends. It was super surprising that he wanted a board game so bad because all the kids now a days just want games that revolve around some type of electronics. We have never heard about this game before and did some research and found such glowing reviews about it. This game is really great and suitable for any young elementary school kid and up. It certainly does promote healthy brain activity and deliver friend competition to keep the mind sharp. My son is always excited to play anyone in a quick game of Blokus especially against me or my wife, and the amazing part is that he definitely beats us more than we beat him. It gets all of us super competitive and thinking about game strategy all the time. I see that there has been a lot of negative reviews and complaints on Amazon lately but the game that I purchased seem like it was standard size and came with 84 total pieces. I have nothing but positive things to say about this amazing game. A MUST ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION OF BOARD GAMES!!!

Very simple but extremely fun game
I used to play this game a lot (actually the Trigon version) in college and, knowing how addictive it is, I decided to buy it. I really love this game: it's easy to play (there is basically just one rule) but, when you become more experienced, you will learn quite complex strategies. I usually play it with one roommate and it's a lot of fun, but it's even more fun if there are 4 players, since alliances will be created and you will have to expand and defend your 'territory' at the same time. If you are planning to play this game with more than 3 friends, you should buy the Trigon version (Blokus Trigon Game), since the board is shaped as an hexagon, allowing up to 6 people to play at the same time.

Fun For All
Blokus has become a party staple in my house. I actually purchased this game a second time after accidentally leaving it at a friend's house and they loved it so much we just let them keep it. Blokus is great for 2-4 people (it's more challenging with 3-4 people since the more pieces on the board the more difficult it is to get all your pieces to fit.) The main goal of the game is to get all of your colored pieces on the board. To play, you simply take turns putting pieces on the board. The challenge is that your pieces can only connect to your other pieces by their corners. So big part of this game is preventing your opponents from putting their pieces down by blocking the corners of their pieces. Hence the name Blokus. It is a really fun strategy game and I enjoy blocking my opponents. The board fills up pretty quickly so this game is great to play to kill a few minutes of time. It won't last hours but you'll want to play again and again! It says ages 7+ on the box but I played this game with a 5 year old who beat me and two other grown adults. So it can be a really fun strategy game for just about everyone. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Don't lose the pieces!
I love this game. I will very likely always love this game. Perhaps it's because I usually win this game. This review is biased. Okay, but for real, it's a great strategy game, just as much fun with three people taking turns as the 4th player as it is with four actual players. Heck, you can probably even have two players using two colors each. You never end up playing the same game twice. It brings out that good and nasty competitive hatred in people when they really care about winning something (note: it will not ruin friendships). And when a move clicks into place, it one of the most satisfying feelings/sounds ever. Also, the board looks really pretty when the shiny, different colored pieces mix together. (I sound like a magpie or a crow, don't I?) Addictiveness level: chocolate.

Love it. Review tells you how to play with 2 players properly
Brilliant strategy game. I did a little research and discovered the best way to play with 2 players is the well-documented 2-player variant (found online, not in the instructions). Same game, only you reduce the size of the playing board to 19x19, just like in the travel version. You can do this by using one of the non-played colors to build a wall around the new playing area. Then, each player's first move is played starting on a square 5x5 in from the bottom left corner. Trust me, this works well. Addictive, and challenging. Will make your brain work! Love it.

Brilliant game, my kids (6+) love it
Brilliant game, my kids (6+) love it. Only downside is that each piece is unique, so if you lose one, your game is skewed (we took out the other pieces of the same size and different colors, to keep things even). Lose a few pieces, and your game is really missing oomph. Our fault for letting them get away - if you buy this game, try hard not to lose any pieces!!

Fun Four Person game!
I bought this as a Christmas present for my dad. It's not a long game but decently challenging for adults. We've only played with 4 players, but so far nobody has been able to place all their tiles! Closest we've gotten is 2-3 left overs...and most times its more like 4-5 left over tiles. Definitely a good gift and fun to play with a smaller group of people (3-4). Short game too- so you can play a couple back to back and not worry about it being a time sink.

Great game for families to play!
I went on a hunt to find age/family appropriate games. My children are 13 and 11 and we like to play games, especially those that have an "even" playing field (vs trivia, etc.). The reviews were good for this and I'm so glad I bought it! We were able to open, read the instructions and start playing quickly (I can't stand when you have to consult the directions a ton of times because people are confused). It starts out simple enough but towards the end, we all realized how much more strategy we should have used from the beginning! The second match was much more interesting once we "got" it. My son even played it the next day by himself, trying to place as many of the pieces as he could on the board.

Great game for independent play; can be played non-competitively
One of the most frustrating things for me as a parent is that pretty much every child's game or toy (that we have, anyway) requires parent involvement in some way, because there is some aspect of it that is too advanced for the children. This defeats the whole purpose of having children "go and play" so a parent can get some grown-up things done. (don't get me wrong--some toys are meant for learning and so parent involvement is appropriate; but I will also be honest and admit that there are also plenty of times when I need to do a grown-up things and want my children to be occupied with their play). My 5-year old and 8-year old play this game together and it is terrific. The game does not require any reading nor any other parent involvement, so it is a truly independent game for them to play. We play it non-competitively, so the idea is just to fill up as much of the board as possible. This helps to avoid upsets from one or the other winning, and they just work together in a strategizing way.
